In August of 1999, Elayna joined the Lewis University Music Department teaching voice in Romeoville, Illinois. She is now an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music and continues to teach voice to university students and voice and piano to private students from the surrounding community. Numerous students of Elayna's have gone on to pursue higher education in music and have successfully pursued careers in music and music related fields.

She is equally at home:

• in the concert hall as the soloist with a full orchestra such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and area orchestras 
• as a church soloist and choir director
• as a recital soloist singing Brahms, Mendelssohn, Poulenc, Puccini, Verdi and art songs
  
• singing musical theater selections from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Gershwin or Romberg
• at corporate function entertainment and  luncheon/meeting entertainment
• teaching voice to university students and the community (ages 12 - adult)
• teaching piano (ages 5 - adult)
• planning and singing wedding ceremony music
  
• singing for cocktail hours and dinner music (easy listening selections) 
• arranging music and singing for funerals and memorials (Hospice)
  
• as the "Patriotic" guest soloist with the American Legion Band singing for several thousand people at the Abraham Lincoln Cemetery for a Memorial Day celebration  or at the Veterans Day celebration in downtown Joliet and area concerts
